"As your council member, I'll be fair, honest, and open to your ideas and input. I will make decisions by weighing all sides and choosing that which most benefits our citizens. I will encourage a fresh, exciting vibrancy that first serves residents, while welcoming visitors who appreciate Laguna Beach's unique vibe."
Living in Laguna Beach should be enjoyable, convenient, and safe. Click below to learn more about Larry's goals to ensure public safety and balance residents' rights with the beauty and charm we all wish to enjoy .
Larry has worked hard to ensure equal access to all: to government, to facilities, and our own streets and sidewalks. Permit streamlining and parking and gridlock are high on his list of priorities.
Now more than ever, our city government must be nimble and flexible. Larry wants to explore off-season uses of Laguna's large facilities to provide a year-round economy that offer residents engaging activities and help businesses and artists succeed.
"Adapt or die." Larry knows the value of being able to adapt, especially during these challenging times. He will explore new ways the City can adapt to meet the changing needs of residents and businesses.
We all prize Laguna Beach for its ocean, beaches, green spaces, and trails. Larry will protect and preserve these treasures by assessing fire risks and sources of air and water pollution to sustain a safe, healthful environment.
The public square must be a place of respect. Citizens must have a forum for active participation. Laguna Beach cannot fall victim to the trend toward discourtesy. Larry listens to all opinions and responds with rational, thoughtful intelligence.
Vision is required as Laguna Beach rises to meet the challenges of its allure as a destination. Many positive possibilities await us as we grapple with traffic impacts and pedestrian flow, fire safety, and changes in retail and entertainment trends. Saying “NO” to change is not a strategy. Let's be creative and envision the possibilities when we SAY YES.
